Crystal Radio Club (W2DMC) Amateur Radio Exams

Crystal Radio Club welcomes candidates testing for Technician, General, and Amateur Extra licenses.

Upon arrival, please check the information board at the entrance for your assigned classroom.

Please use the Register button to pre-register for the exam session.

What to Bring / Exam Requirements

• FCC Registration Number (FRN): All candidates must have an FRN before testing. Obtain one through FCC CORES.
• Identification: Bring a valid photo ID, such as a driver's license, passport, or state-issued ID. Acceptable alternatives are explained in the ARRL identification requirements.
• Valid Email Address: Required for FCC correspondence and license processing.
• Upgrading: Bring proof of your current amateur radio license and any applicable CSCEs.
• Exam Fee: $15 per candidate
• During Testing: Cell phones and smartwatches must be silenced and put away. No notes or reference materials are permitted.

After Passing

New license applicants must pay a separate $35 application fee directly to the FCC. Candidates under 18 may qualify for reimbursement through the ARRL Youth Licensing Grant Program.
