Notes from the team:

Welcome to the N7DOD Lawton VE Team. The team conducts in-person digital testing for Amateur Radio FCC licensing. We provide laptops so each candidate can take an exam. Successful candidates may be allowed to take an upgrade test, with the permission of the available VEs, provided there is sufficient time.

ID REQUIREMENTS and fees:
An unexpired government-issued photo ID is required.
Other considerations - Students may use a student ID badge.
There is an administration fee of $14 cash; exact change is appreciated. Provide a copy of your current license or CSCE for upgrades that will remain with the administrator.

Candidates with expired amateur licenses must provide proof of prior qualifications to receive credit upon completion of the required examination.

Candidates who fail any element may request a retest. Approval is based on available time and the concurrence of a sufficient number of VEs to administer the test. The candidate will need to pay an additional testing fee of $14.

The location is at the Comanche County Fairgrounds, Wichita Room (Prairie Building), 920 SW Sheridan Rd, Lawton, OK 73505. The testing begins at 10:00 AM, after the Comanche County CERT/ARES meeting.

Unregistered walk-in (or upgrade) candidates: You MUST have your FCC FRN available for the license application; the application cannot be processed without it. You may go to the FCC website at https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/support/universal-licensing-system-uls-resources/getting-fcc-registration-number-frn to register for an FRN (you will need to provide your Social Security Number).

Effective 4/19/2022, the FCC is assessing a fee for license applications—more information here: https://www.arrl.org/fcc-application-fee.
