The Tennessee Amateur Radio Assoication is proud to offer VE testing as apart of our many initatives to gain more users in the hobby. Our Team employs rules for maintaining integrity of the testing environment. Following these instructions closely will ensure that your test will be quick and easy.
ATTENTION: Free Youth Testing!!
We are beyond thrilled to announce that W5YI Licensing Services is now offering FREE testing for all youth ages 25 and under! That’s right—the barriers to entry just vanished. W5YI is generously covering testing fees for all three license classes. Even better? For our new Technician applicants, they are also covering the $35 FCC application fee! A massive thank you to the W5YI Team for empowering our CVEs to bring more young talent into this incredible hobby. We can’t wait to see these new operators on the air!
How to claim: After you register to test, simply email VEtesting@tnara.org with your name and the subject "Youth Applicant" to confirm your registration. (Verification required) Youth Applicants DO NOT Pay Fees.
Step 1 Sign Up
Sign up for the day you wish to test. View our Test Schedule Don't see a day or time that works for you? No worries send us an email VEtesting@tnara.org Once you have Registered complete step two.
After registering, you will receive an email with instructions, watch for it! Please check your SPAM or TRASH folder for possible misdirected emails about your test session.
Step 2 Pay
Pay the exam fees located at the link below. We use secure backed payments via PAYPAL the link below will take you to their site to complete the transaction. Please make sure to note the name of the applicant when making payment.
Detailed Exam Instructions
Plan on about 30 minutes for your exam session. However, well prepared applicants can be in and out in less than 15 minutes. Some sessions may take longer if technology issues arise.
If the applicant is under the age of 13, additional documentation is required. Please download and complete this COPPA FORM, and email it to COPPA FORM Please COPY the same email to VEtesting@tnara.org This is for compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
